Payment Information

Insured Patients

Minerva Medical Clinic is recognised by most medical insurance companies to treat patients with medical insurance. Your treatment coverage will differ depending on your insurance company and so you will need to check the terms and conditions of your policy. If you intend to claim using your health insurance policy you should contact the insurance company prior to each appointment to determine that your level of cover is adequate to meet the costs that will be charged. This will need to be done for any consultation, procedure, test or imaging that your consultant says you need.

Please also be aware that the consultant you are coming to see will invoice the insurance company separately for their charges, Minerva Medical Clinic will invoice the insurance company for any procedure, test or imaging carried out at the clinic, including phlebotomy charges, pathology charges and any consumables used.

Please make us aware of any special conditions that may be applicable to your policy (e.g. 6 week clause, an excess) and pass on any pre-authorisation numbers they give you. Treatment cannot be booked without a pre-authorisation number. Our charges may lead to a shortfall in the payment made by an insurance company. Payment for any shortfall is the responsibility of the patient or their parent or guardian. Any shortfall will depend upon the insurance company and your own policy terms and conditions.

If your insurance company does not pay for all your treatment we will invoice you directly and you will need to claim this back from your insurance company. If you have any concerns about whether you will be covered for all costs please ask us for our fee so that you can consult the insurance company before beginning your treatment.

Invoices for insured patients can be forwarded direct to insurance companies, providing that the company name, policy number and pre-authorisation are given at the time of registration. If this information is not available, we ask that patients pay and reclaim from their insurance company. It is the patient’s responsibility to ensure that their policy cover is adequate to cover treatment.

If a patient is sponsored by a company, employer, accredited embassy or third party, we require a letter of guarantee, which must be brought on the day of treatment. Letters of guarantee must be specific, naming the patient, treatment, Consultant (if known), a reference number, and contact name (if applicable).

Self Paying Patients

If you want to pay for treatment yourself, you are able to come to Minerva Medical Clinic and it is totally your choice who you see. A list of the consultants practising here is available and examples of the costs involved are also available. If possible we will always try to give you a fixed price so you know what to expect when you arrive.

If you decide you would like to arrange an outpatient appointment, procedure, ultrasound or other imaging with a consultant at Minerva Medical Clinic, please contact us directly to discuss.

If you have to undergo tests or procedures there will also be charges levied by the clinic for pathology testing and phlebotomy charges. You should also be aware that the consultant you see will charge for their consultation themselves, so you may receive more than one invoice for a single visit.

We accept payment by credit or debit cards (not American Express) and cheques and ask that you pay on the day. Cheques should be made payable to Minerva Medical Clinic LLP.
